The Shores of Solway was on the programme for the combined Johnsonville/Capital City SCD Clubs’ dance on August 20, 2022.
The dance was held in the Newtown School hall, Wellington, New Zealand.
The MC for The Shores of Solway was Johnsonville SCD Club tutor Rod Downey.
Live music was by Strings Attached: Lynne Scott, Sharlene Penman and Richard Hardie.

The Halfway House, Petone, 32-bar strathspey devised by Elaine Laidlaw
The Halfway House, Petone was on the programme for the Carterton Scottish Country Dancing Club's annual dance on November 5, 2022.
The Halfway House, Petone is included in the Wellington 60th Anniversary Collection, published by the Wellington Region of the New Zealand Branch of the RSCDS. The dance is named for the Community House in Petone, where Wellington Region committee meetings have been held for some time. This venue is roughly halfway between Waikanae and Carterton, the two most northern clubs in the region.
The dance was held in Carterton, North Island, New Zealand. Live music was by Aileen Logie, Hilary Ferral and Jason Morris.

32 bar strathspey for 4 couples in a longwise set
Bars: 1st and 3"? couples half petronella to finish on the opposite side in partner’s place.
2" and 4" couples half petronella to finish on the opposite side in partner’s place.
1* and 2" couples half rights and lefts to finish on their own sides 2" couple in 15 place.
N.B 2"? man and 1%* woman complete half rights and lefts with a courtesy turn.
21-24 1st and 3 couples, joining hands on the side, set and dance four hands halfway round to the left to finish with 3 couple on own sides in 2™ place.
29-28 1* and 4" couples half rights and lefts to finish on their own sides 4th couple in 3" place and 1* couple in 4" place. N.B 4‘ man and 1* woman complete half rights and lefts with a courtesy turn.
Order now 2,3,4,1.
2- 9 - 32 All four couples turn partner with both hands once right round.
Repeat with a new top couple.

The Community House in Britannia Street, Petone, has been the venue for Region Committee Meetings for a number of years. It would be difficult to find a suitable venue at the junction of State Highways 1 and 2. This would be almost equidistant between the two northernmost clubs, Waikanae and Carterton.

Muse Cottage was on the programme for the Levin Scottish Country Dancing Club's annual dance on July 17, 2022. The dance was held in the Ohau hall, just south of Levin, North Island, New Zealand.
Live music was by the Saltire Scottish Dance Band, and the MC was tutor Melva Waite.
